I may be the longest client of NAH, having started with my beloved dog “Wolfe”, when I was 8 years old! Dr. Lafeber, Dr. Sakas mentor, saved that puppy, after he was electrocuted. He kept this wonderful Shepherd healthy to the ripe old age of 18, and as an adult, my wife of 35 years, them my fiancé, brought him to NAH, to put him at rest. Then, just in January, Dr. Sakas helped us thru the decision of putting our beloved Rottie, Stella, to rest. It’s been an amazing 46 years. There is no finer Vet than Dr. Peter Sakas, and what a great guy! So thankful to have my pets & our lives enriched with his care, wisdom @ friendship. He is just the BEST!

We brought our 12 year old Old English Sheepdog to Dr.Staunton because of mobility issues and general aging concerns.
He recommended cold laser treatments which were only available in 2 vet locations-one close to 40 minutes further away.I had also confirmed with a friend that she had previous positive experiences with Dr. Staunton and Niles Animal Hospital for her bird.The treatments seemed to help and the care and consideration of the staff made us feel happy to be in the hands of this caring vet.We brought our dog to the Niles Animal hospital for a series of cold laser treatments for about 6 weeks and also were getting some phone consults as well.
The attendants and vets/vet techs were terrific.
Although our dog is aging and does not have much time left, we will choose to bring him to Niles Animal Hospital when our difficult time comes and if the time comes to adopt another dog or other pet we will happily choose them to be our caregivers again.Karen K.

We are bird breeders and also just got our first dog. Dr. Pete has been very good to us. It is important to have a good relationship with your vet. He has taught us many, many things. All done with humor of course. I would not go to anyone else but Dr. Pete with our birds or dog!!

We recently had to have our beloved Shih Tzu, Duffy, put down due to a very serious illness from which he could not recover. The compassion and guidance shown to us by Dr. Staunton and the kindness and support of the staff made a very sad time easier for us to bear. Thanks to everyone at Niles.
